Make Versus Do

During the course of teaching , we discover that some vocab exercises have to be tackled separately. This is a small contribution to help students recycle their use of “make” and “do”. It is always annoying for students to use the correct verb and distinguish between the expressions that collocate with “make” and the ones that collocate with “do”. This is a sole consolidation activity that could be dealt with as a post-reading activity.

Hope you enjoy “doing” the activity and you “make” progress.

Timeline of Tenses

As we are approaching the back to school day, here is a tiny gift for the students ,who still struggle with English Tenses. Making tenses visualized via timelines is a helpful tool for all learners. Hope you find this post useful. By the way, this post is an answer to one student who asked me to help her via my blog by explaining the use of tenses.

Unit 1: Art Shows and Holidaying

Holidaying

Forms of Holidaying :

1- Holidaying differs from one person to another. It also depends on the age of the holiday taker. Some prefer staying at home, reading, watching TV, visiting friends, chatting on the net, listening to music, relaxing. Other holiday takers prefer some active forms of holidaying such as: going on a safari voyage, going on a picnic, visiting museums, travelling, hiking, attending some sport events, practicing some sporting activities. Others tend to abide by more adventurous forms of holidaying such as: skydiving, mountain climbing, etc…

Time to ponder:

Which form of holidaying do you prefer?

Welcome to my class blog

Hey I am Faten Romdhani.I am an ELT from Tunisia and the main aim of this class blog is to help my students at the Fourth Forms prepare for their end of year National Exam: the Baccalaureate exam, foster their learning of English. They are invited to log and send their questions, their requests and I am here to respond and help them with tips, ideas, follow-up exercises, etc… Nonetheless, this blog does not exclude those who have no facility to log and use the internet. They are provided with handouts and review exercises face-to-face.

This blog is not the only one. I have another blog which is mainly revolving around my career as a teacher, my reflections, my hopes and my experiences as a teacher. Hope you log there, too and leave your comments.
